What is Dengue?

Dengue (DENG-gey) fever is a mosquito-borne disease that occurs in tropical and subtropical areas of the world. Mild dengue fever causes a high fever, rash, and muscle and joint pain. A severe form of dengue fever, also called dengue hemorrhagic fever, can cause severe bleeding, a sudden drop in blood pressure (shock) and death.

Millions of cases of dengue infection occur worldwide each year. Dengue fever is most common in Southeast Asia and the western Pacific islands, but the disease has been increasing rapidly in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Researchers are working on dengue fever vaccines. For now the best prevention is to reduce mosquito habitat in areas where dengue fever is common. (https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/dengue-fever/symptoms-causes/syc-20353078 )

What are the symptoms of a Dengue Virus?

Introduction

Dengue will always appear every month, there are victims of dengue. Dengue is a virus that can be transmitted by the vector which is the Aedes Aegypti or the ‘yellow fever mosquito’. In the Philippines According to reliefweb.int, In the first seven months of 2019, some 170,000 people were infected with the disease, killing 720 people – 42 percent were children between 5 and 9 years old. Compared to the same period in 2018, this year’s dengue caseload is 97 per cent higher. The virus is disproportionately affecting children and young people with a staggering 73 per cent of recorded cases under the age of 19. On this percentage we wanted to maintain the lower rates of dengue victims. Our aim is to give awareness to the citizens all about dengue fever.

Purpose

The main purpose of this project is to be the way for the citizens to learn more about the dengue fever. This project is worth knowing for it will enable the citizens know more about the dengue fever. This will also help them to know what to do to avoid from having the virus.

Description

This vlog/project will be shoot inside the school. The interview will be conduct inside the school. This project will also have a website (dengueawareness.fitness.blog).
